Some uniform suppliers offer schools a special incentive program, where the uniform company
agrees to pay to the school a percentage of the uniform sales made to their students. It sounds great, but you'll probably want to
take a close look at exactly how the numbers work out.
One of our competitors, for instance, offers 5% back to the school - but it's 5% of any sales over $75.00 made to your students. We don't know their sales figures, of course, but
our average sale is around $67.50. Their numbers will be similar, meaning that most sales will earn your
school nothing.
Let's be generous, and assume that 40% of every sale to your school is over the $75 mark - let's say
they are $100 sales. For each of those sales, your school earns 5% of $25 (the amount of the sale which is over $75), or
$1.25. If your school has 500 students, each of them shops once, and 40% of them spend enough to cross the $75 mark, then your
school will receive a check for $250 for the year. It's probably not enough to build a new gymnasium.
Your students, and their parents, deserve to get the best uniforms for the best price, with the best service. We think that we're
the company to deliver that - and, of course, we hope you'll agree with us. But regardless of your decision, we hope you will
not base it on the promise of a shallow "incentive" program. Your students deserve better than that.
Please give me a call if you would like to discuss how we can outfit your school. And we promise, no shenanigans.
